Introduction to Turtle Graphics!

Understand what algorithms are and how they relate to mathematics, and learn to write and apply algorithms using turtle graphics to construct geometric shapes using various lengths and angles.

VCAA Mathematics 2.0 Curriculum Coverage

This lesson addresses the following VCAA Mathematics 2.0 content descriptors:

Level 5

VC2M5M04: estimate, construct and measure angles in degrees, using appropriate tools, including a protractor, and relate these measures to angle names

VC2M5N10: design algorithms involving a sequence of steps and decisions that will sort and classify sets of shapes according to their attributes, and describe how the algorithms work

Level 6

VC2M6A03: design and use algorithms involving a sequence of steps and decisions that use rules to generate sets of numbers; identify, interpret and explain emerging patterns
